GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EXTRA SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL PLAN
November 12, 2000 – April 1, 2001
To be eligible to earn the extra shift differential, the Nurse must fulfill the following conditions:
For the 12-hour shift RN, the Extra Shift Differential shall be paid:
Appointment <60% – all designated shifts in excess of 8 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
Appointment >60%--<100% – all designated shifts in excess of 12 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
All Appointments – All designated shifts in excess of 13 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
For the 10-hour shift RN, the Extra Shift Differential shall be paid:
Appointment <50% – all designated shifts in excess of 8 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
Appointment >50%--<100% – all designated shifts in excess of 12 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
All appointments -- All designated shifts in excess of 16 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
For the 8 - hour shift RN, the Extra Shift Differential shall be paid:
Appointment <60% – all designated shifts in excess of 12 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
Appointment >60%--<100% – all designated shifts in excess of 16 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
All appointments -- All designated shifts in excess of 20 shifts during the quadri-weekly cycle.
Provided that the Nurse meets the eligibility requirements in Section B., above, he/she will be paid the extra shift differential in the amount listed in the attachment, for any and all extra shifts actually worked for (6) hours or more in excess of the nurse’s appointment percentage. In addition:
