Ballroom Dance Classes
Ballroom dancing is a team sport and an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise.
This class will emphasize leader/follower technique, graceful movement to music,
and ballroom safety. Foundations of ballroom such as fox trot, swing, and waltz
will be taught to illustrate principles of good ballroom dancing. We currently
offer 60-minute classes on Mondays from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. taught by Shearon Bogdanovic.
Classes are FREE and open to staff, faculty and students. Location: UCLA Medical

Bio-Feedback Sessions at the UCLA Staff & Faculty Counseling Center's Work-Life Program
Bio-feedback is a treatment technique in which people are trained to improve their health by using signals from their own bodies. A session lasts 60 minutes, and you can receive up to six sessions. This program was engages healthcare professionals in the ethical practice of creating a sustainable lifestyle, providing an opportunity to learn skills in renewal, stress managemen and burnout prevention. Experiential learning and the creation of new patterns, generate an energizing and transformational weekend that reconnects one to the powerful meaning of one's work. A three-day weekend seminar, held at Lake Arrowhead, is offered in the fall and spring to staff and faculty and follow up day retreats are available in Malibu twice a year. Hoop Dance Classes
Hoop dance is a great exercise modality that is fun and a great low-impact
cardiovascular workout. In order to Hoop dance all you need is an adult-sized hula
hoop and music (both provided for class participants) and you will learn how to
maneuver it stylistically around the body! There are many benefits of Hoop dancing:
It builds core strength, tones your entire body, provides an intense cardiovascular
workout, develops balance and coordination, increases flexibility, and decreases stress.
Mostly, you will have lots of fun and lots of laughter! Please join us every Tuesday
evening from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. and Thursday evening from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. or 8:00 - 9:00
p.m. at UCLA Medical Center, Cafeteria Vending Area with Clarice Marsh. Classes are

Jazz Dance Classes
Are you looking for an easy way to shed some pounds? Want to increase your
coordination? Or do you just want to have some fun with good music and friendly
faces? Then join us on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00p.m. at UCLA Medical
Center, Dr's Dining Room 16-111 CHS with Laura W. Sheehan! This class
concentrates on basic jazz dance movement/technique, with the goal of increasing
your flexibility, building confidence, and experiencing the joy of movement.
Classes will start with a quick warm-up, followed by across-the-floor work to
improve technique, and end with a short dance combination (usually a new one each
week). Styles will vary from week to week, from funky disco to balletic lyrical
to jazzy swing to rock & roll. Beginners welcome! Wear loose, comfortable clothing
and shoes that don't have heels or sticky tread. Classes are FREE and open
to staff, faculty and students.

Watchers’ Corporate Solutions “At Work” Program
The “At Work”
program is tailored to the needs of working people. A specially trained
Weight Watchers’ group leader deals with topics like:
- Coping with coffee breaks and candy machines
- Brown-bagging with Panache
- Beating the 5 o’clock syndrome
- Fitting exercise into a busy schedule
- Maintaining motivation
- Effects of time pressure and stress on eating habits
Weight Watchers ”At Work” is an on-going lunchtime program held once a
week at noon. It is a pre-paid program based on a fee of $11.95 per

Wellness Plan Trainings
Open to both
Campus and Healthcare side employees -- These classes provide an
opportunity for the plan to present information about the plan’s
services, as well as to answer questions from employees. Plan
representatives provide an overview of the plan and more detailed
information about Wellness programs offered by the plan (emphasis on
Wellness). The plans may provide a Wellness speaker, as well as provide
health screening to members who attend the trainings (varies by
presentation). Plan members are provided the opportunity to learn how
these programs can help them to make health care decisions that are
right for themselves, balance work and family, overcome emotional and
financial burdens, and improve their health and quality of life. These
trainings are offered once a year and are broken into four sessions,
one session for each plan.

Yoga Classes
People have enjoyed the physical, psychological and spiritual benefits of
yoga for some 4,000 years. We currently offer 60-minute classes on Wednesdays
and Fridays, from noon to 1:00 p.m. Classes are open to staff, faculty and
students, and each class is $8, paid monthly. Payment may be made at the
class location: UCLA Medical Center; Room A2- 236A. Space is
